The talented Kalaitzis

Greece is an ancient and great country. The Greeks gave the world everything that is today considered a benchmark and classic: government, democracy, architecture, philosophy, science, and much more. Among the world’s peoples, it is the Greek people who are credited with the greatest achievements. Some of the most famous and talented figures of antiquity came from Greece: Aristotle, Socrates, Plato, Homer, Herodotus, Hippocrates, Sophocles, Euripides, Pythagoras, Archimedes, Solon, Diogenes, and many others. Alexander the Great, a Greek, was a great military leader and the founder of a global power. The Hellenic world he created defined the vector of progressive development for hundreds of peoples. Naturally, modern Greeks—the descendants of these great men—continue to amaze the world with their talent and wisdom. The legacy of the ancient Greeks is evident in many ways. I was fortunate to meet one such talented representative of the great Greek people in Mongolia—Konstantinos Kalaitzis. This incredibly gifted man turned out to be very humble and wise. In conversations with Konstantinos, I learned a lot about the culture and traditions of different peoples, as he travels extensively, studying the ways of life and customs of people in different countries. And, of course, what captivated me most was the singing of this amazingly talented man—Konstantinos Kalaitzis. Especially when he sings Indian songs—it’s simply fantastic! I would say that Konstantinos Kalaitzis’s songs have a healing power. It’s no wonder that even Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi admires Konstantinos Kalaitzis’s voice. And Prime Minister Modi certainly knows a thing or two about such things! It’s no wonder that during his official visit to Greece, the first person he wanted to meet was Konstantinos Kalaitzis. While in Mongolia, this talented Greek spoke about his plans for the Mongolian folk instrument, the morin khuur. It was very gratifying to hear Mr. Kalaitzis’s admiration for Mongolia and the Mongolian people’s traditions! I believe that thanks to the talent of Konstantinos Kalaitzis, the Mongolian morin khuur will gain even greater international fame and delight music lovers worldwide.
