Ong Khan met Genghis khan in the Black Forest on the Tula River, and there they agreed to call each other father and son. The reason they began calling each other father and son was this: Ong Khan was a sworn brother of Yesugei Baatur, Genghis khan’s father, and therefore he was like a father to Genghis khan. This was the reason they began calling each other father and son. They uttered the following words: “In war against numerous enemies, we will fight together. In hunts for wild animals, we will hunt together.” Genghis khan and Ong Khan also said to each other: “If, out of envy, the toothed snake of slander incites us against each other, we will not believe the slander. We will believe only when we meet and explain ourselves. If the fanged snake of malice incites us against each other, we will not be angry, but will believe only when we talk with each other.”
When they finished these speeches, they began to live in friendship and harmony.
